Video Series on Geomechanics Behind Fracturing Pressure Curves

Updated: Jan 10, 2021

This is the first episode of PetroGem's series on 'Mechanisms in Geomechanics'. This episode comes in three subsequent videos.

Pressurized fracturing tests such as mini-frac and DFIT provide crucial information about stresses and other important geomechanical and geological aspects of the rocks.

In this episode, we will break down an idealized pressure curve into its different segments and explain the geomechanics behind each.

Video No. 1

Here is the Video I of this episode which starts with introducing the problem and setup for fracturing pressure curves.

Video No. 2

In the first part, we introduced the problem. In this video, we will see how and why the fluid pressure varies when the fracture starts, matures and propagates.

Video No. 3

And here is the final part and maybe the most important section of Episode 1 of the “Mechanisms in Geomechanics’ series on fracturing pressure curves (e.g., mini-frac, DFIT, massive fracking).
